TPDD is a small, hard-working team of tourism industry professionals charged with destination marketing Port Douglas and Daintree to the domestic and key international markets. All team members are based at the Port Douglas office.



Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) is seeking a dynamic marketer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and development.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful applicant will provide effective leadership of and direction to, our membership based Local Tourism Organisation by building on a customer focused, innovative organisation. This includes promoting the strong values of TPDD and working closely with the Douglas Shire Council to drive positive change and effective marketing and promotional strategies, while enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships. As CEO, you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of the organisation’s business and strategic plans and be accountable for the overall management and operations of the organisation.

To be considered for this role, you will have;

  • proven record of success in providing leadership within a Tourism/Event Marketing environment, demonstrated delivery of high performance and growth in a competitive marketplace.
  • Effective communication at all levels with an understanding of corporate risk, regulatory & legislative elements of running a business.
  • An ability to deliver and report on defined and measurable results in line with a strategic plan.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • A hands-on approach to achieving the organisation’s targets through not only leading, but being operationally involved in delivery TPDD’s business plan and marketing strategies
  • Personal drive and integrity.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and resilience, excellent presentation skills and professional demeanour and strong business acumen.
