The award-winning Wildlife Habitat, located in Port Douglas, provides visitors with a chance to get up close and personal with Australian animals in a window of their natural environment. Experience five unique environments; the Wetlands, Rainforest, Savannah, Woodlands and Nocturnal Habitat.

From providing the thrill of being able to swim with saltwater crocodiles, to keeping company with cassowaries and hand feeding adorable eastern grey kangaroos, the award-winning Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas has unrivalled opportunities for travellers to interact, adore and be amazed by Australia’s most iconic wildlife.

By providing unique and enriching encounters, the team at Wildlife Habitat aim to inspire travellers to appreciate and understand the importance of wildlife conservation, and to take proactive steps towards protecting our natural environments.

The world-famous Breakfast with the Birds now includes koala interaction and is welcoming visitors to a new educational and mouth-watering dining event in Wetlands. Join any of the many daily presentations with the experienced wildlife keepers, or book your own private guided tour. Admire cassowaries and Lumholtz’s tree-kangaroos in the Rainforest, peek at gliders in Nocturnal, wonder at small birds in Woodlands, as well as meet iconic koala’s and create valuable conservation connections. Open every day from 8am – 4pm except Christmas Day.

Swim with the Salties

Get ready to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush and dive into the aquatic territory with the mighty saltwater crocodiles at Wildlife Habitat's Swim with the Salties Experience. The ultimate in wildlife interaction, this extreme wildlife encounter permits you to swim with giant apex predators in a 180-degree clear swim spa. This spine-tingling sensation is as real as it gets.

Located at CrocArena at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, you will be in breathtaking awe as our huge 4 meter + crocs lurk either side of you. Swim just centimetres from these enormous reptiles and marvel at their sheer power and size as you witness their incredible strength, agility and bone crushing power.
