As we move further into 2026, Port Douglas & Daintree continues to build strong momentum across marketing, events, trade engagement and member initiatives. Our major destination campaign is lighting up commuter corridors in Sydney and Adelaide, now transitioning into the Nova radio layer and the My Queensland Holiday partnership launching this week. At the same time, ongoing government engagement is helping keep Port Douglas & Daintree firmly front of mind with state decision makers, while new events such as the Heatwave Festival continue to elevate our destination profile and attract valuable interstate visitation during traditionally softer periods.
Last weekend, Port Douglas was buzzing with the energy of the new Heatwave Festival, drawing visitors from across the country and generating vibrant, media-worthy content that continues to amplify our reach.
On the business events front, representation at AIME 2026 delivered promising results for Business Events Port Douglas, with important leads secured. Port Douglas is firmly back on buyer shortlists, particularly for premium conferences and immersive incentive programs aligned with sustainability and wellness trends.
Our Sydney campaign continues to perform strongly, with the billboard takeover lighting up key commuter routes ahead of more than 280 Nova radio placements and the My Queensland Holiday partnership delivering over $600K in media value. Together, these initiatives ensure our destination remains front of mind in key source markets.
National exposure continues through prime-time television, with Niramaya Villas & Spa recently featured on Channel 9’s MAFS 2026, showcasing one of our premium properties to a broad audience.
