EO Update 16 Oct 2025

It’s an exciting time for our destination, with several key opportunities ahead for members to connect, contribute, and help shape the future of tourism in the Port Douglas Daintree region.

This week marks the countdown to TPDD Board Nominations closing this Sunday, followed by next week’s China Market Insights Briefing, a valuable session for operators wanting to better understand the evolving Chinese traveller and what it means for our destination.

Looking ahead, the TPDD Annual General Meeting in November will bring members together to reflect on our achievements and highlight direction for the year ahead.

This Saturday, the spotlight will also be on Port Douglas as we celebrate local creativity at the Port Shorts Film Festival, a fantastic event showcasing our region’s cultural vibrancy during the shoulder season.

We also acknowledge Great Barrier Reef Legacy for its national recognition for the Forever Reef Project, which received a Traveller Award for Sustainability. This achievement highlights the innovation happening right here in Douglas and reinforces our region’s reputation as a global leader in conservation and sustainable tourism.

Finally, we thank Port Douglas Getaways and Down Under Tours for upgrading to Platinum Membership this fortnight, the highest level of contribution within TPDD. Their additional support and ongoing partnership strengthen our collective marketing efforts and reflect a shared commitment to growing the Port Douglas Daintree region.

Thank you all for your continued support and engagement, your involvement and enthusiasm continue to drive the success of our destination.
