Port Douglas 2

EO Update 08 Dec 2025

It’s an exciting time for our destination, with a new campaign buy-in opportunity for TPDD members to be announced tomorrow. This exclusive opportunity is linked to our upcoming domestic campaign designed to drive shoulder-season visitation.
This buy-in will provide members with access to a high-impact, multi-channel promotional program for the Port Douglas Daintree region. Full details will be in your inbox tomorrow - stay tuned!

Momentum remains strong following the global recognition Port Douglas received last week. In case you missed it, our destination has been named one of Booking.com’s Top 10 Trending Travel Destinations globally for 2026, and the only Australian destination to make the list.
To celebrate this milestone, we captured a series of local industry reaction interviews as part of a Video News Release, which has been circulated to media to help amplify this incredible news.
Adding to the excitement, The TODAY Show broadcast live from Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas last Wednesday, sharing this recognition with national audiences and showcasing the region at its best.

As we near the end of the year, a reminder that our final TTNQ & TPDD Member Networking Function will take place this Wednesday at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Port Douglas Resort. We look forward to seeing many of you there as we come together to reflect on the year and celebrate our shared achievements.

In the Business Events space, Michela Scacchi represented Business Events Port Douglas at both the Business Events Expo New Zealand and Australia Next 2025, significantly strengthening Port Douglas & Daintree’s exposure across priority incentive markets.

Trade engagement continued through a post-famil dinner with UK incentive buyers in Port Douglas, as well as Maura’s coordination of a famil and site inspections for visiting Arinex representatives, keeping Port Douglas front-of-mind for future incentive and conference planning.

We also congratulate Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the Djabugay Buda:dji Aboriginal Development Association for winning the Interpretation Australia National Excellence Award - First Nations Interpretation Project for The World’s Oldest Rainforest Story. This award highlights the depth of First Nations storytelling in our region and the power of meaningful collaboration.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. Your collaboration underpins the strength and success of our region, and we look forward to closing the year on a positive and united note.
