A new event to the 2019 Carnivale calendar, The Surf Side Session at the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club, is a great addition to the Famous Family Beach Day!
The inaugural Surf Side Session will feature the Reggae sounds of local FNQ Roots, Reggae band, Koahlition, playing a variety of great Reggae covers by legends including Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Toots Hibbert and Peter Tosh, as well as some of their own great originals and Jamaican Ska.
Reggae is ideal music for the tropics and the genre has been embraced by Pacific Island nations and Northern Australia. The multicultural band, with members from the Torres Strait, Koahlition also offer a cultural aspect to their show. Lead and accompaniment guitarist Moses Warusam from Saibai Island adds a glimpse of his culture through several of his original compositions.
This FREE event will take place between 3PM and 6PM at 'The Surfy' and will be a wonderful afternoon to come out and relax with family and friends, and have a dance and a sing along. With the Surfy bistro right next door you can kick back with a beverage and a bite and enjoy the show.
