Port Douglas Carnivale 2020

Event Postponed - New Date TBC

We are deeply disappointed to advise that Port Douglas Carnivale 2020 has been postponed in line with recommendations from the Federal Government on non-essential mass gatherings.

Event organiser, the Douglas Shire Council, will investigate the possibility of holding aspects of the festival, originally scheduled for May this year, as part of its economic recovery to the COVID-19 pandemic at a future date.

It’s time to party in paradise as Canivale returns to Port Douglas!

Watch Port Douglas transform from a sleepy, palm tree-lined beachside beauty to a stage set for 20,000 Carnival revellers! Originally held to mark the start of the sugar cane harvesting season, today Carnivale is now considered the official opening of the tourist season and is a mecca for lovers of all things food, fun and sun.

Highlights include:

- the opening Street Parade along Macrossan Street

- the Longest Lunch in Rex Smeal Park

- a Family Beach Day at Four Mile Beach

- a Seafood Extravaganza event at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina

- a night of 'Fun, Frivolity & Fabulousness' with Out! Cairns

Find out more here and keep up to date on all things Carnivale related on the Carnivale website.
