TPDD Website Listing Handy Tips

We hope you are all enjoying the brand new look and feel website. As you know the website is self managed and it is up to you to ensure the consumer visits your page. A few helpful hints are listed below:

  • Images - Speak a thousand words, maximum image size 10MB
  • Update the $ for budget - your listing will show up in multiple searches
  • List a direct reservations link, make it simple for the consumer to book your product

These are just a few ways to maximise your listing. Log into the members dashboard to access a handy tips document.

Daintree Ferry 'Early Bird' Trial

The Daintree Ferry has experienced record numbers of vehicles travelling on the ferry in the past 18 months. Council has been working with local tourism operators north of the Daintree River to develop strategies to minimise delays while encouraging visitors to experience the beauty of the world’s oldest rainforest and the early bird discount is the latest initiative. From 15 September to 3 October inclusive, Douglas Shire Council will trial an ‘early-bird’ discount for ferry travellers for any vehicle in the car/ute category travelling before 9am each day, reducing the return fare by over 25 per cent to just $20 and offering one-way fares for just $10, a discount of over 33 per cent for self-drive tourists.

Wicked Willie's Relocates

After 23 years of operation Wicked Willie's Jewellery is an institution in Port Douglas. The sweet sounds of the wind chimes can now be heard at their new location in the Club Tropical Building, next door to Tommy Bahamas and 2 doors from Sassi's. Stop by and check out the new location.

The Bike Shop Expands

The Bike Shop and Hire (formerly Port Douglas Bike Hire) has renovated the office on Macrossan Street and expanded its operations to include Electric Bikes. Visitors will be able to hire Electric Bikes and normal bikes from the shop front on Macrossan Street, the large store will operate as normal on Warner Street.
